The Giver is a Newbery-award- winning novel and is often considered one of the first dystopian novels for young adults. Despite this acclaim, it is also frequently placed on banned-book lists because of some of the subjects that it tackles. The story revolves around Jonas, who finds that his perfect community isn’t as perfect as he thought once he is assigned a job he never imagined having. Created by Lindsay Reed adapted from Kevin Feramisco.
