This page provides an area where resources are collected together around areas of the primary science curriculum. This link is useful for primary and junior teachers looking to use STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematic) projects in their class. It is organized to ensure ease in finding a certain grade and subject. Subjects such as living things and their habitats, plants, animals, seasonal changes, and more could be used in connection with Kids for Turtles. This link works for primary and junior grades, however, it will require a familiarity with the grade leveling in the UK because resources are separated by year not grade. These resources found in the link will fit in both the science and mathematics curriculum. Many of the resources offer ideas for gearing up and down for other grades and offer very hands on projects or activities.

Follow Along with the Engineers of Room 1 There has been a push in the United States to place a larger focus on STEM subjects (Science Technology Engineering Math). The STEM movement encourages classrooms to study all of the STEM subjects, and to learn how they work together. In Room 1 we will do this in our Maker Space. Follow along with what we're up to. Our 3D printer will be a part of this, but we've got a separate webpage for that.
From Nobel prize winners to the world's most famous space explorers, these women in STEM never shied away from saying exactly what's on their minds.
The Tinkering Studio is primarily an R&D laboratory on the floor of the Exploratorium, but whenever possible we try to share our projects, activities, and developing ideas following an “open source” model. Learn how you too can enjoy our activities in your kitchen, garage, classroom, and community.
A great integrated STEAM activity/assessment for Grade 4 FSL plus 3D Art. It significantly reduces anxiety for students for oral FSL assessments. To integrate STEM use Chatterpix App to make the faces talk. Students can practice French by writing/speaking a descriptive script to go with their 3D face. This activity can also be used for character descriptions/studies for book reviews. This resource activity can be adapted for many elementary lessons. Not solely an FSL activity.
A group of teen girls learned to code, solder, sew, and 3D-print to invent a solar-powered tent for the homeless.
UDL (universal design for learning) lessons in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) for learners with special needs and limited communication abilities can be engaging and successful as a way to build student skills in collaborative project-based learning and communication.
Untamed Science is a site dedicated to making inspirational videos, and content for the sciences. We have produced videos for biology, physics, chemistry, earth science and technology. We’re also creating a series of portals (as seen on the upper right of every page), that serve as guides for students and aids for teachers.
